The skill of using a bow and arrow for hunting or military use has been around for at least 10,000 years!! The earliest evidence of a formed arrowhead was recovered in South Africa, dating 60,000-70,000 years ago.

In more modern times, archery has gone from a form of weaponry to more of a recreational pastime.

Here at Northern outdoor we will provide you with quality coaching to ensure you get the most from your session, whether you are a complete novice or a modern robin hood/Mockingjay from the hunger games!!

Axe Throwing

Channel your inner Viking and learn the art of target Axe throwing. Using specific throwing axes (hatchets) our instructors will coach you in the correct techniques to hit the target successfully and consistently.

The session takes place in our purpose-built range in the stunning walled gardens of Twizell estate. The targets are sourced directly from Twizell wood estate!
