This is the new phenomenon that is taking the adventure world by storm. An amazing experience that offers so much fun and excitement you can’t help but want to ride the tube again and again.
White water tubing really brings the river to life and we not only have oodles of fun but also learn how to swim effectively in a fast flowing river. The first part of the session involves an introduction to Adventure Swimming. This will help you to understand the river and as we are going to be negotiating some grade 4 rapids on the tubes, it is an essential part of the activity. Once we have an appreciation of the force of the water and have completed a successful assessment of your swimming skills, you will progress to the riding the tubes, down the rapid that is known as Salmon Leap Falls.
The challenge to stay on top of the tube as you descend a series of small waterfalls is one that everyone wants to complete. Using your skill and luck you can have several attempts to ride the whole stretch of rapids and stay out of the water as you feel the adrenalin pumping.
There is also an option to finish the session with a trip down a lazy river in a more leisurely journeying style. And to really top it off, you can try some cliff jumping at the end into the pool of the stunning Low Force Waterfall.
There is an accessible footpath to the tubing, which makes a perfect viewing platform for those who prefer to look at the water rather than jump into it.
This is a fantastic activity, for sports teams, adventurous colleagues, stags and hen groups and any of your mates who love a bit of a challenge.
A white water tubing experience is a fantastic gift for an adventurous loved one. We have Northern Outdoor Gift vouchers available that can be personalised for this experience. We offer flexibility in dates and have several dates throughout the year that you can join as an individual or couple and take part in this unique event.
Like all Northern Outdoor activities safety does come first and conditions for tubing have to be just right to be safe. Our team of professionals have several ways to monitor the conditions, particularly following periods of heavy rain so please be prepared to have your safety put first and a possible change of plan put into place.
