This 2 day weekend course is open to all levels and abilities and provides
the opportunity to try something completely new. No prior experience is necessary and all technical equipment will be provided. All that you need to bring is your lunch, a towel and a positive attitude to have a great weekend.
The first day is spent on a local northeast river and includes some introductory skills coaching. We include lots of practice opportunity and games to help develop skills quickly and give you the confidence to progress safely. There is the chance to practice techniques on moving water or even hit the sea for some surf kayaking – weather and conditions permitting.
Day 2 is an exceptional day that is all about the journey. Putting all of the skills that we developed into practice, you will make your way down one of the tranquil rivers in the North east. With the option to try some white water kayaking on some small grade 1-2 rapids. Paddling down sections of river where there are no footpaths and only those with floating devices can travel, there is a good chance to see some unique wildlife too.
The scenery is stunning and thrill of surfing waves, or riding rapids is equally as fulfilling. We will have lunch on the side of the river, sharing the environment with Kingfisher’s, Sand Martins and other river wildlife. We will then continue the journey and develop skills that allow us to paddle confidently and safely down a grade 1-2 river.
